THE A5 BOOK REVIEWLonely Planet’s Ultimate Travel List is the travel guide publisher’s ranking of the 500 greatest places on Earth. The beauty of the book is not in the ranking itself but in the breadth of experiences, covering everything from beaches to cities to UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is hard to stop turning the pages but easy to find inspiration for that next trip. We don’t want to spoil the surprise of what’s the number one ranked destination, but the Galapagos is second and Uluru (also known as Ayer’s Rock) in Australia is third. Be sure to get the second edition, published in 2020.

OTHER TRAVEL WRITING FROM LONELY PLANETLonely Planet is of course best known as the word's most successful publisher of travel guides, but they also produce some travel collections and kids books. We love The Lonely Planet Story: Once While Travelling, the inspirational story of how the company was founded. One of their most popular coffee table books is The Travel Book, A Journey Through Every Country in the World.
