THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINENational Geographic Magazine is the official magazine for The National Geographic Society, the global organization committed to exploring and to protecting the planet. This superb magazine provides inspiring coverage of geography, science, nature, and culture, and the publication is especially recognized for stunning photography. Photographer Steve McCurry produced one of the most familiar images in the world for the June 1985 cover, presumed to be of a green eyed 12-year old Afghan girl. We find the writing both compelling for someone mildly curious and detailed enough to interest an educated expert. National Geographic Magazine amazingly has been published continuously since September 1888. Subscribers have access to digital archives with every single edition ever published. We highly recommend a subscription.

THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TRAVELER GUIDE BOOK SERIES
National Geographic's powerful storytelling carries through to their series of inspiring travel guides, books oriented to showcase highlights of a specific destination supported with expert editorial content and helpful maps. We recommend using these books for pre-trip planning to help decide where to go and what to see, but those who want more thorough information when traveling might want to choose another guide to take along during their trip. The National Geographic guides are also a great post-trip souvenir.
