THE A5 BOOK REVIEW

National Geographic is a remarkable company with a long history of amazing photography and for their quest to explore and reveal the unknown wonders of the world.  There is one book that nicely captures that spirit – Rarely Seen: Photographs of the Extraordinary.  This photo book reveals a world that few will recognize, with over 250 striking images of rarely-seen places and events.  Examples include lightening erupting from a volcano, Petra at night, giant crystals that have grown to over 50 tons, the Hell Hole with a fire burning for 40 years in Turkmenistan, and the engraving inside Abraham Lincoln’s famous pocket watch.   This 400+ page book is definitely worth a place on the coffee table, or of course as an excellent gift.

National Geographic Magazine

National Geographic is first and foremost known for its magazine, truly in our opinion one of the best magazines ever on science, nature and world cultures.  Makes for a great gift for anyone who loves travel.  An annual subscription is surprisingly inexpensive.  Read our review of National Geographic Magazine.
